Our first stop of the day was to be at Arches National Park. When we left our hostel at 7:00am it was 36°. Arches is only about 7 miles from where we were staying so it was a short hop to the park. We stopped for some breakfast and then got to the park just as they were opening. I’ll tell you right now that you’re going to get sick of looking at photos of Arches because there are a BUNCH of them! AGirl told me that we had to leave plenty of time in the schedule to spend some time here, and now I understand why. The rock formations and scenic views are just unreal. We stopped so many times, with so little time between stops, that we ran the battery of her FJR down and had to bump-start it! It was worth it though, at least to me. |

After Arches National Park we headed for Capitol Reef National Park near Torrey, UT. We took Utah Highway 24 to the park because it is a Scenic Byway. We did stop a few times along Highway 24 and going into the park for photos because, as has come to be expected, the scenery was just fantastic. |

We took Highway 12, another Scenic Byway, through the Dixie National Forest to Tropic, UT and stopped for the day. Some of the photos above were taken along Highway 12 but to be honest I don’t remember where the park photos left off and the highway photos picked up ;) AGirl’s ride report for this date is at This Page |
